Flat Stanley Goes to the Beach

After enjoying Charleston Flat Stanley (and everyone else) was wiped out and ready to go relax at the beach.  We all got in the car and drove along the coast to Garden City Beach.

We had lots and lots of rain while were at the beach (and continue to have lots) so Flat Stanley couldn't go out too much.  He enjoyed the warmth and safety of the journal he has been living in.  Between rain storms we went down to the beach, built sand castles and enjoyed the waves.  We discussed storm fronts and got in a good lesson on weather since you could watch them come in over the ocean.

 

All that digging in the sand and jumping in the waves was hard work so we had to rest and eat lots of snacks too.

 Here's a picture of our own personal lake (the road) out front and under the beach house from so much rain.  We had almost as much fun playing in it.

When the sun came out we enjoyed a trip over to the old Air Force Base which is now shops, restaurants, a lake and playground.
